Cocktail Hour!

I somehow missed doing Toon Tuesday yesterday, so here's a doodle today, in honor of the favorite time of day in my house. It's a bit embarrassing that my 3-year-old knows the word "cocktail" and says "Yay!" whenever we announce the hour, but to her it means that Mama and Daddy will stop working immediately and that we will often put music on and dance with her. And there are always snacks, so who wouldn't love that?

We have cocktails every Wednesday night. As soon as I get out any cocktail related gear my younger son goes into a frenzy yelling for "Gok-Tail!" I make them fancy juice concoctions while we sip the hard stuff with our buddies. It is a great family tradition.

My little one says "aren't we supposed to drink when we say cheers and clink the glasses together?"

She went from Bottle, to sippy cup, to juice cup to grown up!!

(oh, that was me!)

SO glad to know ours is not the only household preserving the classic cocktail hour tradition. It's a sanity saver in our house, let me tell ya. And Kat? We'll look into that t-shirt thing, because I'd like one too!

Don't even worry about it. It's all about the music and dancing! My kid knew how to operate a tap at 3. I figured it would help him develop fine motor skills. And earn tips from my buddies. A self made LEGOnaire. How can that be a bad thing?

We so need to reintroduce cocktail hour at our house. Mommy misses her martinis.

Oh yes!
I am a firm believer in "Cocktail Hour".
(My children are aware of 'mommy's juice box'.)
